Pier Pressure

Lifting a boat trailer from a canal using a crane requires careful planning, proper equipment, and safety precautions. This process involves several key steps to ensure the trailer and boat are safely removed from the water without causing damage or accidents.

We received a call from a customer at midday on a Sunday afternoon, looking for assistance to help remove a trailer that had become stuck after attempting to load a boat from a canal slipway, and subsequently falling from the drop off ledge and into the canal bed.

In just under 1hr, we had a hiab vehicle on site and the removal and uplift operation could begin. We carefully began to tease the trailer from the canal bed is at become submerged in the silt and sludge. Once released from the grip of the canal bottom, we could then ease it forward on its own wheels to a position of relative safety, where it could be secured in position. Whilst on site, we were happy to oblige in utilising our hiab crane to gently tug the boat onto the trailer, removing any element of danger, of the trailer falling back into the murky depths of West Yorkshires finest waterways.

This just further demonstrates Network Hiab & Haulages versatility to apply our equipment to many uses and aid most industries throughout Yorkshire and beyond. Operating nationwide, 7 days a week we have the capability to service most requierments.
